Any help or Advice Needed pleaseee

Hi! I just found out I will be starting my nursing program next semester. I know that nursing school is going to be a lot of work and very difficult. I am very excited about starting but also very nervous. I was wondering if anyone here could tell me if there's anything that they have found helpful when starting like certain study aids, reference guides, or any other hints. Any other things taht I may not even know about yet that could help or could help me be successful. I also have to buy some equipment including a stethescope is there any recommendations for a good one?

Check the "sticky threads" (above this post, under the general student discussions). There is a sticky thread with a title something like "Items used most for nursing school". There is a ton of great pointers and info about things to buy for school. As I read through that post, I had a notepad and pen and wrote down items as I saw them there. By the time I was ready to shop for school, I had my list.

Thank you I will do that. I also wondering if there is anything that can prepare me a little bit, study stuff?

I didn't really study, knowing how busy I'd be once school started (I wanted to enjoy my summer). I did however, brush up on anatomy, med terms, some pharm. That was done while I laid by the pool.

My best piece of advice: enjoy your free time while you still have it! My actual classes don't start until tomorrow, but I have already had about 100 pgs worth of reading assignments that are due when I get there tomorrow.

I wouldn't buy anything like a stethoscope until you check with your school. Mine is very particular about which one we have- I have a good one, but I am required to use a specific cheap one they want us to have. It would be unfortunate if you went out and spent $$ on a Littmann or an Ultrascope and then found out you have to have a $20 Sprague like I have to have....
