Any feedback on LPN program at FCCJ and/or lpn work experience in florida?

Hi:

I'm new here and just got accepted to the LPN program at Florida Community College in Jacksonville. This will be really new for me as I have a masters in social work, but have been thinking about nursing for several years. (too many prereqs to start RN right now).

Any feedback on the program and/or what its like to work as an LPN in Northeast Florida (or any area of Florida). I'd love to have a better idea of what I will be doing (and if I can!!!) Thanks.

I am an LPN that works in florida I say go for it and enjoy. I did my nursing in virginia 7 yrs ago and moved here to northern florida myself. I had to learn what the state of fl. could do as a lpn in virginia we did the exact things as the rn but could not work in specialty units but that was fine. The money is not good in the hospital here in florida for lpn but it is wonderful in nursing homes with skilled rehab therapy it feels as if you are in the hospital setting you do alot of the same stuff good luck :) :balloons:

hey there I applied to the LPN program hoping to start this Fall of 08. I haven't seen too many on here that have applied for LPN. Anyone else applied and waiting on acceptance?

I too applied for fccjs lpn program and have yet to receive an acceptance or denial letter and it's already been 6 weeks. Have any of received anything in the mail ?

It starts next month right

I am waiting for LPN school to start Sept. 2.

We'll have orientation July 22 and i am sooo excited!!!
