Any experience with Trustaff?

Trustaff is one of the truly awful agencies. It is unlikely your friend is getting competitive wages. In fact, don't go with any Cincinnati area based agency. They are all bad. Aya (formerly Access) is also on the bottom of the heap. American Mobile has recently been sending travelers out to collections (of penalties) for assignments they didn't take (one hadn't even signed a contract). Fastaff is not a great agency, but they pay very well and generally you earn your money (often their assignments are difficult). They are not recommended for a first assignment, you want your first assignment to be a success. Chase the money after you've got your feet wet.

So sorry to say, I would recommend you start your search all over again. I find it much easier to call out bad agencies than recommend good ones. Bad agencies are just bad actors period and sooner or later they will bite you. Unfortunately you may not know other than social media which ones are bad unless something goes wrong for you. Then you know the mettle of an agency but it is too late.

The problem with labeling agencies as "good" is that every single agency (even bad ones) have their fans. And frankly your relationship with your recruiter is more important than the agency name. A great recruiter at a poor agency is far better for you than a poor recruiter at a great agency. How do you know? Call a dozen agencies and choose the five best recruiters to work further with. Those five will be ones you think you can trust, and most importantly, can communicate well with (both directions).

With close to 400 agencies, you can afford to throw some of them away (all of them you named) before you do all that work of signing up. I'll name a few for you to start calling that are not horrible. For a really big agency, choose Cross Country over American Mobile. Really big agencies can certainly come up with an appropriate first assignment for you if you get a good recruiter (again, that is key). Medical Staffing Solutions (either the WI or IN based one of the same name), Cirrus, Trinity, Valley Health, Freedom, Supplemental (you'll probably have to find your own housing), Emerald, PPR, PHP (these last two are known for good service). Google these names and travel nursing and you will find them.

Again, these are (eleven) respectable and respected agencies but not a top ten list. Those are just the first ones to come to my mind and if I thought longer, I could come up with a dozen more. But if you find good recruiters (for you) at five of those agencies, you are off to a good start.

Im with NursesRX(AMN Umbrella). My recruiter shotgunned my resume out to teaching facilities. So I am at a big one. Probably one of the most travel friendly one.

Nice people, nice area, decent pay. Still more than what I was getting at my previous job, and very educational... Even to travelers. So I have 1 year of exp. Extending. I may come back for a perm job.

One thing I can recommend from one new traveler to another... Dont get caught in Drama, be flexible, if you hear someone complain, nod your head and smile.
