Any experience with Micronor?

I took Micronor for a while after my first son was born. I think my periods were lighter but I don't really remember anything out of the ordinary.

See what the doc says, maybe she will have another idea.

i too was in the same situation with the combo bc pills elevating my bp to a dangerous level. i am now taking micronor as well. i recently had my first menstrual cycle since the 4 months i've been on the pills. from what i've read it's not uncommon to have an irregular cycle and to miss cycles. i do worry about not knowing whether or not i'm pregnant at times, especially since i'm so irregular now and i've never been pregnant before. i'll just take pregnancy tests periodically just to be sure. the pill has done wonders for my bp though. i'm no longer hypertensive since the switch and i have fewer migraines. hope this helps, but talk with your physician, pa, or np if you still have concerns.

Micronor is the "minipill" and is safe for breastfeeding moms. I took it for awhile after I had my daughter. Since it is low dose (progesterone only) it must be taken everyday. That is, each pill is "active" unlike normal birth control pills where you get three weeks of active pills and one week of sugar or placebo pills. They must be taken every day, ideally at the same exact time (to not get pregnant).

And yes, if you take them every day, at the same time, you probably won't get your period. I didn't get mine. If I forgot a pill or took it late, I had some spotting which went away when I resumed the pills.

However, I did get pregnant on Micronor because I didn't take it at the same time every day. This is very important and sometimes they don't tell you this. If you are using this as a primary method of birth control, know this!!!!

I was put on Micronor (estrogen free) BC pills in August. The combo pills were running my BP up through the roof. (not good for anyone especially at 21yo) Well anyway I haven't had a period since then. The info that comes with it said nothing about delaying cycles. I did find some info at webmd.com and that said some ppl only have like two cycles a year. I just wanted to see if anyone was in my same situation. It's kinda scary not knowing if you may be pregnant and all (but you all know that) I took a test like 3 weeks ago and that was neg. but they suggest taking a test like q45days. If anyone has been on this med or has some suggestions I'd love to hear them.
