Any DMC nurses out there?

I am in my last year of nursing school and trying to decide where I would like to work as an RN. I have done clinicals at the DMC and have more to finish there. My father was a patient there many years ago, for 8 months, and it was at that time, I wanted to become a nurse. I am seriously considering working at the DMC, or the U of M facilities...any advice?? Happy New Year everyone...

Hi there! I'm not a DMC nurse or a nurse yet (still a student), but some of the students in my program are in their second year and working at U of M. They've said when they graduate they will continue there because the benefits are EXCELLENT! Not sure if that bit of info helps since it's not firsthand. Happy New Year to you and congratulations on reaching your goal!

I am a DMC nurse. I started out as a Student Nurse Associate @ Harper, then Graduate nurse. Now I am a RN @ Sinai Grace.

DMC is a teaching hospital.. I have learn alot and still learning new things everyday. Doctors love teaching things. I have assisted a Dr. put in a chest tube while the patient was on the floor.

I gained alot you knowledge from working at DMC.

It does help, and thank you!! One of my fellow classmates just hired on at Harper as a student nurse, she said she is learning many skills, it sounds great. I applied for a position, the only one open on their website, at Detroit Receiving in the ER as a student nurse..

I am waiting to hear back from them..
