hey everyone!
i just wanted to know if anyone knows of any combined bs/ms programs in florida. a combined bs/ms program would mean that by getting into the program you would be able to get the rn license and continue to work on any specialty. i just moved here from n.y and i know this program exists at columbia university. below is a clip from the columbia program. would they have this program in any school in florida?? any advice would be appreciated!
thanks, hopeful84
*the combined bs/ms (etp) program is an accelerated combined-degree (bs/ms) program for non-nursing college graduates. the program is designed to prepare the student for a career as an advanced practice nurse. academic studies are closely integrated with clinical experience. there are two components: pre-licensure study which prepares the student for basic nursing practice and specialty study which focuses on an advanced practice role in professional nursing.)students begin the program in late may/early june (summer semester). this course sequencing has been designed to allow for a seamless progression through pre-licensure and specialty studies.*

I think the University of Florida has something similar. But you have to have a previous baccalareate degree in something, and the RN. you go in as an RN and you come out with a MSN.

i believe that the university of south florida has a combined program. the way i understood it once you begin your bn you can apply and start your msn. hope this helps.
Thank you hawkfdc and twinkle_ears,
I will do some research on the University of Florida and the University of South Florida. Hopefully these schools will have the program I am looking for!
I did some research and I think I was looking for direct entry master's programs. In the direct entry programs I could get both an RN/BSN and Masters degree. Are there any direct entry master's programs in Florida?? The programs can also be called master's entry program in nursing (MEPN), graduate entry pre-specialty in nursing (GEPN) or any variation.
Thank you so much for your help!
