Another NCLEX 75-80 questions?!?! Help! Need Advice!

Published

I just took the NCLEX this morning and it shut off somewhere between 75-80 questions. When I got to 72 questions I got too nervous to look at the number anymore and all the sudden it SHUT OFF! I was obviously immediately CRAZY! because going into the test I was thinking, "all i want to do is make sure I get more than 75 questions" I'm worried that maybe I didn't do so well on one section of the test, I had a lot of a particular type question. Now as I think over it, the questions I received seemed to be "more difficult" and complex, but I'm still nervous. That doesn't take away the fact that they were the most abundant in my test. is this a completely bad sign? Can you fail at 75 because you weren't competent in one area by then? Or would they probably return to that subject again?

All input is greatly appreciated!!!

Honestly you can not predict this exam and stressing over it now isn't going to change your results. Wait for your results and Good luck

Have tried the pearson vue trick? That gives partial assurance if you pass. wish you luck on your result!

I had read the brochure they give you at the end of the exam. And it states that the number the questions you answered doesn't indicate a pass or fail. It also states, "The length of you examination is determined solely by your performance on the examination". A person with with 75 questions can fail just as much as someone with 200 questions. Best of luck! I found out today that I just passed through person vue.

I took my first NCLEX Tuesday. Shut off at 90 questions. I was scared to death because I had what I felt were easy questions. But I just found out yesterday that I passed my test. One trick I learned that helped me was going to the state website and searching my name for my license. I was a CNA prior, so that info showed up, and then also my LPN info showed up but it kept saying that the status was pending. A girl I work with who failed her NCLEX-RN the first time, passed 2nd time said when she failed her RN one didn't show up on there at all, but when she passed it stayed as status pending until they changed it to active. Don't know how your state is, but that helped me! Good luck!
