Anasarca Question

Anasarca is defined as: "excessive accumulation of fluid in the interstitial spaces throughout the body." The key phrase here is "throughout the body." Basically, the whole body is edematous. My question--is the type of edema seen with anasarca generalized or pitting edema--or, can it include both? Thanks for your help!!! :kiss
