2016 Ameritech College

So anyone have information about Ameritech financial department?? Are they good about you making payments? I enrolled and sent in all my transcripts, and all of the general ed courses got waived or transferred in. The program cost for me is $37k instead of $52k. With grant money and my financial aid loans my balance is now $20k. I got turned down by Mountain America credit union. But they make it seem like that's all my options??!!! I'm panicking!

Hey StudentRN! I don't have an answer for you, but I was wondering if you've contacted Ameritech yet to find out your options? I'll hopefully be in a situation similar to yours (gen eds done by the end of December, without A&P) and I'm already worried with how to pay for a program like this! I won't be moving back to Utah until the end of December as well so it's not like I could pop in and find out either. Good luck to you either way! That's so exciting!

Hello! Yes I found out! I completed the application process! I have purchased my scrubs and everything. I am scheduled to start Jan 9th. I don't have to take any general ed and I test out and passed the math class. I won't know until December if I will start semester 2 because it depends on how many spots are available.

As as far as finances, there not too many options. Financial aid, private loan through mountain America or grant/scholarships.

My tuition is $35k. I received grant money and financial aid. I also applied for $4000 through Utah department of workforce services. My balance right now is about $10k. They let you pay per semester. I have to pay about $2500 every 4 months or before each semester begins. They won't let you make payment plans. The remaining semester balance is what you have to pay!

good luck! Hope to see you in the program!

Wow! That is SO exciting!! Congrats to you! And thank you so much for all the info! Is Mountain America the only option for a private loan? I've done two and a half years of general ed courses and some upper level psychology because that's what I am/was going to get my bachelors in if I didn't get into any nursing programs (before I decided I wasn't against private college nursing programs ;) ) so I don't think I'll be able to get much more in grants/financial aid since I think theres a 4 year max on that? Unless the program is eligible for government student loans through FAFSA? Do you know anything about that? Sorry for all the questions!

There is a 12 semester limit on grants from FASFA. I am going to school on student loans and grants from fasfa. Yes Ameritech is approved for FASFA. I also applied to department of workforce services(utah) for state grants. And mountain America credit union was the only bank they listed for me. And FASFA the student loan limit is $56000k for a bachelors or as degree. Once you reach that you have maxed out. If you decided to go for you masters degree the max is like $120k in student loans.

Hey! How did you apply for the grant through the Utah Department of Workforce Services? I tried to ask the financial counselor about this, but she was absolutely no help! I am planning on starting at Ameritech in May!! How are you liking the program so far??
