American system??

HI all

I'm new here - to this site and this country. I am a Scottish guy and got married and moved here to be with my wife. I have 24 years experience within the Health/ Social care fields, working in hospitals, nursing homes and community settings - in the UK.

I am presently working here as a medical attendant/ float nurse extender in the local williamsport hospital but I find there are differences between what they do her and what I di back in the UK. For example, in certain places I could and did pass medications, etc.

My question is this.... how do I go about getting my previous experience acknowledged or accredited here so that I can use that to go on to either LPN or RN training?

I have no idea where to even start so any and all advice/ suggestions would be helpful. Keep them clean please. lol :specs:

You may get more information by posting this question on the Pre-Nursing forum. Also while there are several foriegn students attending school here in the US I also suggest you make an appointment with a counselor at one of the colleges near you. By making an appointment you are not bound to that college and the appointment does not cost you any money.

yea, that's a tough one. I dunno. Sorry, but I hope you find out soon!
