My first job as a new grad was at an ASC. Love it!! Hope to never work anywhere else. Yes, you do need to have strong skills and know when something is going wrong as there is no RRT, etc. You also have to be very good at patient education.
Whether it is a good match or not may also depend on your school experience. My sr practicum was in the PACU which made a transition to the recovery room at the ASC very smooth!

Is this a good first job for a new grad? I wouldn't think so. It's at a good local hospital.
