Am I overloading myself?

Published

Hello everyone. I'm currently an Lpn going back to school this fall and taking my prereqs for RN School. I work full time 36 hours Fri-Sun and I plan to go to school Mon-Thurs. I'm taking 4 classes and I really have no idea on the work load to expect. This semester I'm taking engl 1010, hist, remedial algebra and intro to psych. I don't have any kids or commitments outside work. Any advice would be appreciated.

Last summer I took bio 103, intro to psyc, eng 101 and music app. Summer semester lasts half the time of a regular semester and even then it was totally manageable. I think that you'll be just fine especially considering you don't have any kids or outside commitments.

You will be fine! I worked 50+ hours per week while taking my pre-reqs which often was up to 4 classes at a time in 8 week micro sessions so classes were super accelerated. Make sure you get a calendar and mark when each and every assignment is due and when you have exams. Don't procrastinate and get things done early if you can. If you do that, you will be just fine!

I don't know what kind of student you are but all of those classes are at the bottom of the difficulty scale. Just manage your time during the week and you should be fine.

You will do just fine! I am working full time as a pharmacy technician and went back to school full time to do my pre-reqs for nursing.. (Currently applying to schools now! Crossed fingers, wish me luck!) I managed to get my AA in 2 years while working full time! I had a full day of school on Mondays and Wednesdays which I used for the 3-5 hour long classes, like the anatomy and physio that had a lab. What really also helped me was taking online classes for the easy pre-reqs like psychology or sociology. I could sign on at midnight and get work done if I couldn't sleep. Good luck! Very do-able.
