airforce signing up.

Hello. So i turned in the pre qualification form for airforce nurse corp and I got approved to apply.

1) What is the whole process until being commissioned ??

2) they told me about "board" date .. what is that?

3) What should i look for when signing the contract ?

Thank you.

1. For this one, I'm just going to say read more on this site under the government/military specialty. There are hundreds of threads that explain this.

2. The board is a group of senior military officers that periodically meet to make decisions on what civilians will receive a commission as a nursing officer in the Air Force. The date they meet is called a board date. You typically have to get your paperwork in a month before that.

3. The contracts are pretty straight forward. They don't beg you to join. You compete against others for a limited number of slots. These slots are what is left over after ROTC graduates earn their commissions. The key thing that typically gets messed up is your civilian work experience. Make sure your paperwork has the correct number of year of full time RN experience; it gets you a higher rank with higher pay.
