Air Force Nursing

Hi I'm Katherine, I'm looking to join the USAF. My goal is to become a flight nurse enlisted. I already have some college credits and will be completing my CNA program soon. Can anybody lead me through the steps from before enlistment to flight nurse or provide some insight as to what I can expect? Thank you

Nurses are officers.

Good for you. Joining the Air Force and serving is something that you won't regret. However nurses are officers and not enlisted. You will have to go to college and graduate from an accredited Nursing program with your BSN and get a commission. I was enlisted medic prior to nursing school and I utilized the GI bill. The majority of Air Force flight nurses are reservists and not active duty. Please google CCAT for further reading. Hope this helps and best of luck.

I know it's been a bit since you posted, but to add on to what has already been said, make sure you are talking to the correct recruiter (if/when you contact one). Any time you hear "enlisted" that means they're talking about enlisting, NOT commissioning. And if you want to be ANY sort of nurse in the Air Force, you would commission, NOT enlist. I just want to make sure you talk to the right people! Sounds like this is a ways off though. Good luck to you
