Advice on what to do if unable to be licensed

I’ve posted here before but a quick background is I have 2 misdemeanor DUIs (4 years apart) on my criminal record, and the last one was less than a year ago. I got sober, graduated nursing school with an associates this past May, took and passed NCLEX in June. NYS BON is in the moral character review process currently and I have yet to hear from them. I have lost hope that I have any chance of being licensed and it’s been countless sleepless nights stressing out about my future. Does anyone have suggestions on what kind of job I can get with my degree and no license? I just want to be prepared and have a back up plan if they decide officially on a denial. I’ve googled a little and what comes up is CNA or MA but to be frank I am not interested in those positions. Thanks in advance.

I just want to say do not give up hope! You have 2 misdemeanor charges and I would assume, worst case scenario they do deny it, you hire a lawyer and put in an appeal and be prepared to fight until you have your license. Congratulations on getting sober that is by far the best thing you could of ever done for yourself. I’m in a similar situation, I had an addiction problem and was arrested a few times a few years back but nothing ended In a criminal conviction. I was advised by 2 different lawyers that I don’t need to disclose anything that they did not directly ask which is have you ever been convicted of a misdemeanor or felony or pleaded no contest (I’m in NYS). So I put no like the lawyer advised me to but I am freaking out. I just don’t want to mess anything up that I worked so hard for. For you I suggest you don’t stop fighting and don’t accept no for an answer, you earned this and turned your life around and if anything that will only make you an even greater nurse.

Don’t give up! I’m in a similar situation mine was a felony 10 years ago. I went for my LPN passed it I was under review for months almost a year well Covid happened so I’ll say maybe that’s the reason welllll December 2020 I passed my NCLEX RN and guess what I was sent a license which I had to send back after they said they realized I was still under moral character for my LPN license so I have to send it back to start the RN application moral character well I met up with the investigator in March 2021 and I’m still waiting. My lawyer advised me to withdraw from the LPN application because they we’re coming for my RN license so I did just that. The day of my hearing was 2 days after my RN license was posted online( which was a Wednesday then Thursday they made in inactive and Friday was my hearing) so sometimes I wonder if I should have just went for the LPN hearing and see at least I would have had something to work with now but my attorney advised to withdraw so I did. I’m also in NYS Long Island

Hey how did that go? Were you able to get through although you put No? I didn't know that was an option
