Hey there.. I am a new RN and am seeking employment. I am a career changer from music education (I know that sounds weird) and currently still hold a position as music director at a church which I love. I have come to the realization that I may have to resign that position to meet the weekend requirements of a hospital position. Quite frankly, I have been on a few interviews and nothing has come of it. I interview this Monday for an RN position at a busy pediatric office. The pay is low, but it IS a foot in the door and acquiring some experience. The hours would also allow to keep my position at the church, and both incomes I could live on (for now). I would like to seek a med-surg position and have applied but nothing is coming up as far as interviews. Any advice on taking the peds office job (if I'm offered)? Not the same as a hospital but good place to start? Like I said not much else is coming up.. Your input is welcome. Thanks!

Hey a job is a job, unless you dislike Pediatrics (raises hand ). If offered the position, bone up on the vaccination schedule and pediatric injection sites. And prepare yourself for lots of contagious exposure: strep, impetigo, cold/flu, etc.
