Can you shadow an oncology nurse????

I graduated in December and am currently working on an oncology floor, and I love it.

We've had students/potential staff shadow on my floor.

Find a position in a hospital you're interested in and go for it!

A really good online resource for oncology nurses and students in the Oncology Nurse's Society. The website is http://www.ons.org

There is a wealth of information and resources on the website.

Good luck,

Diane

NurseToBe:

I don't know where you are located, but keep your ears and eyes open for fellowships for new grads and internships during the school breaks in oncology (or almost anywhere you can to get your foot in the door). Perhaps try to set up shadows in local hospitals to start "networking" for the future.

I will be graduating this month and was fortunate enough to be offered the opportunity to be on an oncology floor without any prior experience.

I am very happy and wish you luck!!
