Advice about LPN

i went on line to get a math program. http://www.math.com

this site helped me to pass the math test to get into the lpn program.

that was the only test i had to take to get in. of course, i have to complete all my shots required. i also have to be cpr certified. i will be working on that this month.

we were told on the test date there is 4-5 hours of homework every night and a test every single day. we were also told if we took a full time job, we would fail the course.

i am not going to work at all. we will be real tight with the money. hopefully the bills will get paid on time... lol.

If it's something you're seriously considering, there's no harm in doing some research. It's probably good to check if your area has strong job market. Hospitals are hiring fewer LPNs to begin with, but as long as your confident in job availability and your desire to do it, go for it!

I posted this in another area but it seems to me that I might get a better response here. I wanted to go for the RN program @ cc but last time I check which was in 2005 there were just 120 seat and 1,000 application. Monday morning I was looking online when I found that they just open up a new LPN program and that the advising session was the same day. I call the adviser and left a message stating that I will be @ the 2:00 sesson. My cc just open up a LPN program for the Spring of 08 not may students know about this program yet. You had to attend the one of the advising session on July 25 one @ 2:00 pm ( there was less then 29 students there) the other sessions was @ 7:00 pm (not sure how many showed up to that session) and there are a total of 45 seats. Im sure not all who attended the advising session will actually apply to the program. In order to get in you must have a CNA certification (I start my CNA program on July 9 - Aug 22) . They look at your GPA first Psychology 100 which I have a B. I also have to take AP 1500 which I start Fall of 07. They also look @ your reading score which I took and pass. There is also math score but the level for the math is mim is a low score which I sure I can pass. I know I want to apply for this program but I am so scared. I am not sure how my employer is going to react to me greatly reducing my hours and days that I will be able to work if I get into this program. Also how it would impact my husband . I know it will be a very hard 12 program so I am scared of the course work. Advice is greatly needed.

Go for it. Alot of people want to get into the RN program, but forget about the LVN route. If you are willing to wait for the RN and want to go straight through,then all means do it.You have to do what fits into your lifestlye.

I just graduated in May and I dont ever regret going to the LVN route, because from what I hear the LVN program gives you more skills base versus RN,at least around where I live. You can always go back to school for RN , but you want to get your foot in the door first.Once you graduated from the LVN program, the LVN-RN will be a piece of cake.You can make decent money while you work.Indiana State University just approved a LVN-BSN program this Feb so thats another option. Im Going throught the LVN-BSN route myself.good luck to you:balloons:
