I'm a first yr nurse grad, and it has been difficult finding an RN position. I got hired doing POOL at a LT/skilled facility in the fall. I was grateful for the job. They were considering me for a position FT nights in early Dec, they just had wanted to see what the weekend charge RN thought about my performance. Only I never got the chance, the DON hired someone else. I guess I was "not quite ready". Boy was that a crush, I was feeling great up till then. I then got offered a job with DOC, just waiting for my background check to clear. While I am waiting they offer me back the position because the girl has put in her notice. I have not heard anything bad from the nurses that work at the DOC, in fact I have gotten a couple I love it! Now I have to decide. The LT or Dept of Corrections? Anyone with knowledge of DOC I would greatly appreciate! Now to go do my list of pros and cons of each.
