I'm an stna in Ohio I'm enrolled for nursing school I start in 3 weeks..but this past weekend I was arrested on a false domestic violence charge..I'm trying my hardest to get my lawyer to drop it completely because I'm innocent...but would the arrest still show up on my bg if charges were dismissed && if I got it lowered to disorderly conduct could I still get my nursing license?

I'm not entirely sure of the answer, but what I CAN say is that if I was in your situation I would talk to my nursing adviser (I always start out by asking my adviser any questions I have). If (s)he can't help you, then I would make an appointment to speak with the department chair as he or she should definitely be able to give you advice about your options.

Your lawyer cannot drop charges- that is up to a judge or prosecutor. In many states, that is the only means of having charges dismissed. Even the victim cannot drop charges.

I meant my lawyers fighting to get them dropped...

oh man, yes contact your advisor. Hopefully he can get your domestic violence charge brought down because I don't see many people wanting to hire you as a nurse with that. How in the world did you get in this situation?

As a rule if you were booked the it's gonna show up on a background check in some way.
