I am considering returning to school for my Masters, but I am not interested in my NP. I am more interested in CNS and/or nursing education. In comparing the differetn schools, specifically ASU, Grand Canyon, & University of Phoenix, I am surprised @ the differences in prices, & requirements. I was wondering if anyone had any info on ASU and how much actual clinical and class time was involved as I live on the West side and work full time with family as well. Any input on any of these programs is appreciated.
thanks,
Doris
Wow, thanks for all the input and response (lol). I just registered at Univiersity of Phoenix for the Masters with focus in healthcare education!!! Kind of freaking out though.

Hi Dorimar,
I am still earning my ADN so I can't give you too much info. However, a friend of mine is in the RN-MSN program at ASU. Most of her classwork is online or through teleconference. I hope this helps.....
yeah, just joshin y'all about the responses. (but i do appreciate these responses). Kind of just wanted to unload my excitment/ freaking out nervousness after I enrolled. The funny thing is, after i went to my apppointment with my guidance counselor, (and it really just was for guidance) i left there enrollled and freaking out. I looked over at the folder in the passenger seat, and it said, "You can do this" ( i think that is UOP's motto), but i really felt...."Yes I can"!!!

Congrats! I did the UofP MSN program with concentration in management and leadership and graduated in May 2005. Then, I did a post-MSN adult health clinical nurse specialist and graduated from that in May 2006. I really enjoyed the MSN program - much writing but I was in public affairs prior to becoming a nurse. If I can help, please PM me.
Good luck...I really like the APN role. BTW - it is very bright of you to get your MSN with a concentration in education versus an MS in education. With an MSN you will be able to teach in nursing colleges. Good luck. Take care.
