Advanced Pathophys Textbook

Hi all,

I am starting an FNP program next month and there is no required text the instructor only requires that it is current (ie within the last 5 years). Does anyone have any recommendations? I would like something that is well organized and I'm willing to buy two if necessary.

I rented my text through Amazon. We used Pathophysiology: The Biologic Basis for Disease in Adults and Children by McCance. It is VERY detailed... more so than what we are required to know. Overall, I find it more useful for reference and expansion of knowledge on unclear topics, rather than initial study. Most of the info is presented well in our lecture notes.

Also, check through your school's library website about texts that are accessible for free online. I was able to do this for one of my pharmacology texts which was helpful.

Excellent book. I got mine during my RN-BSN and use it during my MSN program. I also find Pathophysiology: Concepts of Altered Health States by Porth and Matfin to be excellent also.

Checkout boundless.com, esp if you have a tablet or don't want to spend a ton.
