Advanced Patho Vs. Pharm

For anyone that has taken these classes, is there one that is better to take before the other? I'm thinking advanced patho will give a good basis of the systems and disease processes, a sound starting point for advanced pharm. Just trying to get pointers from others that done both classes and have advice/tips to be successful. Thank you!

I did patho first and found it helpful when doing pharm....just my opinion :cat:

Be aware that Pharmacology must be taken within 5 years of your actual graduation, in order to apply/obtain your DEA prescription authority. I mention this if you are a part-time student in a BSN to PhD FNP Program which may take 5 or 6 years to complete.

Hope this helps!!!

Agreed with both above. I imagine patho would help a lot for pharm. do you have a course plan from the school? See what your advisor says too!

Not to hijack the thread ... but my advisor for the BSN to DNP program mentioned the 5 year rule for Pharmacology during a recent conversation.

A side note ... definitely do not take Avanced Patho with Advanced Pharm.

I took Advanced Assessment and Pharm at the same time. I think if I had added Patho at the same time I would have caved. I was working full-time also.

Thank you all for the great advice. Much appreciated. ??
