Hello! I will be starting an ADN program this Fall and my end goal is to be a NP. I was just wondering if there are any programs in Texas that are ADN to MSN FNP? I want to start preparing and making sure I fulfill all of the requirements. I tried searching for some but the websites are a little unclear. Thank you!

I am sure there are. This isn't one of your questions, but since you are in Texas and new to nursing, I wanted to tell you that Texas is oversaturated in FNPs. The market for them is very tight and many are unable to find work. Those who do find work are facing stagnant wages.
You would do better to work as an ADN and then specialize in an advanced practice role that continues to see high demand, such as ACNP, psych NP, NICU NP, etc. At my facility we have 90 people either graduated with their FNP or in the program now. They can't find jobs in their new roles so are still functioning as floor nurses. We created a full time position whose whole job is to start counseling people on advancing their degree prior to applying for tuition reimbursement due to so many pursuing a degree they now are having trouble using.

Thank you so much for this feedback! This is very useful and definitely something I wasn't really thinking about! I will consider other NP routes as well ? thank you!

UT Houston Health Science Center just started an RN-NP program about a year ago I believe. My end goal is also to become a NP and I came across this on their website.
