Acls

As a ER RN are you required to be ACLS prepared?!?!?

Featured Replies

BCLS, PALS, ACLS, and TNCC are REQUIRED. NRP and ENPC strongly encouraged. CEN within 2 years of hire. I cannot imagine working in the ED without those credentials. I use those skills EVERY SINGLE DAY in our extremely busy ED.

I would be EXTREMELY concerned about ANY emergency department that does not have BCLS, ACLS and PALS as a bare minimum. What a scarey concept in emergency care.

Our ER requires BLS, ACLS, and PALS. Trauma is optional since we have a level 1 trauma center up the road (affiliated hospital). National cert is also optional.

We are required to have ACLS & PALS within 6 months of hire for ER, ICU and PACU staff. We are a small, rural hospital pretty far from everything. Obtaining any of these can be a bit problematic because there is no access to the classes elsewhere. Our hospital provides them 3 - 4 times a year.

Definately. We are also required to have PALS, TNCC, and of course BCLS.

I finished BCLS PALS and ACLS prior to appling to the ER and got the job over those who had not taken the ACLS yet.
