Accuplacer Test

Good morning, Nurses and Future Nurse!:balloons:

Next week I will be going to Community of College of Baltimore City to speak with an Admissions Officer regarding enrollment. My question is the Accuplacer Test, are you required to write an essay? If so, are you given the topic or that's left up to the individual?:uhoh3:

How was difficult was the Accuplacer Test? It's been 15+ years since I've been to school or written an essay?:o

I had to write an essay for the Accuplacer. The topic was "The 12 month school Year, is it better or worse than the traditional school year?" Other people got topics like, "What would be the ideal career for you and why?" The other sections on the Accuplacer were math and english. There are a lot of good sites on the internet for practice. One thing to remember is that the Accuplacer works like this, if you get an answer right, the questions get harder, (more advanced). So, for example, in the math section, i really took my time so that i got right answers and could get a high level on math. You can't go back and change answers, but you can take your time, there was no time limit, except for the essay. When the essay section came up, we were given the topic, and then could think on it for a few minutes before we started writing, then it was timed, 30 minutes I think.
