My roommate and I both applied for the VCU Accelerated BSN and tonight she showed up at my Wallyball game with our acceptance letters!!!! :yelclap:

aww.. CONGRATS! so happy for you guys!!! :)

Congrats! How is it going so far? Had you completed all of the pre-reqs before you applied? Also, did you take the SAT or ACT? I am applying this year for Summer '10 so I was just curious :)

Thanks!

It's going great! I'm really loving the program. I had not completed all of the pre-reqs and I reported both my SAT and ACT scores because they were both on my high school transcript. Good luck with your application!

Wow, that is great news! Do you know what the average ACT scores were? I plan on attending an info session soon but am just curious.

What do they go by if you haven't completed the pre-reqs?

Was your g.p.a high for your bachelor degree?

Specializes in ICU.

My GPA was a 3.5 and my degree was in business. I had completed A&P 1 when I applied. My ACT score was 31 and my SAT was 1330. I'm not sure what the averages were for the class. If you can get in touch with Whitney Carswell in Admissions, she is a great resource and was extremely helpful to me when I was completing the application process. If you have any other questions let me know. Good luck!

Thanks so much for your info. I have taken A&P I as well and am graduating with my bachelor's in December. I have a 3.8 so far but my ACT score is REALLY old however, admissions stated that it doesn't matter how old the score is. I will def try to get a hold of Whitney in admissions, thanks so much!

What is your schedule like each week? How about for the summer term?

Specializes in ICU.

The schedule in the summer is intense. It is 5 days/week even though on paper it only looks like 4. This semester is a little bit easier. It's still 5 days/week, but the days are shorter and it just seems like there is more down time to study and keep up with work. There is a test pretty much every other week in the summer, and it is very stressful with trying to get used to the hospital and everything. But this semester, since we are more used to the teaching style and the schedule seems to be much more laid back.

when you say 1300, i am guessing with reading and math and not including writing right?

trying to apply for the summer 2010 program........do they require a certain GPA for entry in the program?
