Accepted to LPN program/intro

Published

hi everyone! earlier this spring, in march, i was informed that i was accepted into the pn program i applied to!

i am very excited, and cannot wait to begin this journey. i have been a cna for 7 years, but i worked as a 'resident assistant' for a few years prior to my official nc state cna exam. my mother has been a nurse for 35 years, i knew i wanted to be a nurse since i was 5.

i live in charlotte nc, and i was accepted at gaston college, in gaston county. i have already fully completed my pre req's, 3.8 gpa, so the only classes i will need to take are my actual nursing classes.

my program will cost 3,876$ at gaston college, which is a community college. i have my orientation on may 26th, and then i begin classes in august.

i am looking forward to the next year, and i hope to use this site as a resource for support. my fiance' is very supportive, he understands what nursing school entails, and he is excited for me.

:)

Congratulations!!!!! My older brother told me It will be a one year committment then you will be set for a career for life. He was so right!! I have had amazing opportunities as an LPN and would do it all over again in a heartbeat. Best of luck with your journey.

Congrats :yeah:!!!

I'll be starting my LPN program May 3rd and I'm really excited too! I'll be sure and let you know how it goes, and I hope you'll keep us informed :nurse:

Oh and just under 4,000 is an awesome price; I thought I was getting off cheap at a little over 5,000. I've heard some of the other LPN students on here say their programs cost up in the 20 and 30 thousands

I too have heard of the 'tech schools' which offer LPN programs. They tend to charge an outrageous price for what you get, and you may not even be able to transfer credits for an RN completion bridge. I am a big fan of community colleges. I would not pay 30,000 for an LPN. I plan on bridging to RN, then RN-BSN. I do not believe my ENTIRE plan will cost anywhere near 30,000. My local university, UNCC, has an excellent tuition rate compared to others.
