If there is a severe nursing shortage, how come schools are stringent upon accepting students? Obviously the schools and universities are overlooking the shortage with their admission requirements. I have a 3.4 gpa, and have been turned down by a dozen of nursing schools in New York Metropolitan area and Long Island. They claim you have to take a "standardized test." I missed a standardized test by 2 points and still would not get admitted even though I have an A average in Math and Science. Could someone tell me the easiest programs ADN/LPN/LVN program to get into in New York?

I really do not understand it as well. I received my rejection letter on Monday. I really thought that I had a good chance of getting in. I have a 3.4 gpa and I have completed all pre-reqs except 2.
My only guess is that they do not have enough funding to hire more instructors to teach the students.
Oh well
