Abuse accusations

I need some help my fellow nurses. I worked pediatric private duty home health for a 16months for a very active 7 year old. 4 weeks after I resigned to pursue a different job, the mother made a report that I abused and neglected her child. She reported that there was bruising on her child 4 weeks after I left and let himroam around unsupervised. I made a statement to an investigator but I'm worried sick.  I never hurt that baby, I loved that little guy.  I was with him for 50 hours a week while his mother was out doing who knows what with her child support money.

Hello,

I am sorry you are experiencing this.  Do you have nursing liability insurance?  If not, get some asap even though it may not cover this incident.  If you already have insurance, call the company and discuss mom's allegations.  If you do not have insurance, call a lawyer and consult them on how to proceed.

It's really scary to work in Healthcare. People can easily report us, and we are always put to blame. Doctors, family, colleagues, supervisors & BON condemns us the minute we make mistakes. Shames health workers by posting their discipline on their websites, giving them a hard time to look for work.
