Abs program at MCPHS

Has anyone been through the ABSN program at MCPHS? I was wondering what the program was like. I have called but want to talk with someone who has been through the program. I have 2 young children and want to know if it will be a good fit for me or not. Thank you!!

Yep! Search the MA board, lots of info on there. I did it.

It is very intense. First semester, it's all classroom learning and lab: plan to be at school 8-5 M-F with maybe a half day or so thrown in.

Clinical rotations go like this:

Provider I (Med/Surg)

Provider II (Mother/Baby incl. L&D, peds)

Provider III (Psych)

Provider IV (Community Health)

Provider V (Preceptorship)

Rotations may include evenings, weekends and nights.

The teaching model is big on front-loading: ie. covering the didactic content before you go on rotations. But you do come out well prepared.

Is the whole program a 8-5 or is it mainly just the first semister?? Thank you for the advice and the help.

First semester.

After that, once clinical rotations start, it includes evenings/weekends/nights.
