A question here...

Hi! Since obviously most of you in the area are school nurses I have a question. I am in High School and I have blackheads all over my nose and cheeks. My Dr. prescribed erythromyrocin (not sure on spelling). Will it work? If not how can I remove them? Help please!!!! Thanks!

emycin will not help black heads...only acne (which is an infection in the skin) - black heads may be helped by cleaning, exfoliation etc...

If you go to a dermatologist, they will use a tool that has a point on one end and a tiny "ice cream scoop" on the other. The pointy end goes into the blackhead first to loosten it up. The scoop has a hole you place over the blackhead and apply pressure. If you can't get to a dermatologist, they carry them in beauty supply stores like "sephora" in the mall. Good luck and be gentle to your face!! If you get the tool, remember to clean it after each use with a bleach and water solution.
