A&P 1 Fall '06 Club!

Just wanted to start a "club" for those of us who are taking A&P 1 this fall.

My class is 16 weeks. I have lecture on M/W/F for one hour each day and lab on Tues for 3 hrs.

My teacher for lecture & lab (same person) is awesome! She gives us a weekly quiz, drops the lowest one. Gives us extra credit. Four major tests. Final is comprehensive. (Ick)

She gave us handouts for chapter 1 and we just fill in what we want as she pretty much has everything she wants in these handouts. She told us we don't have to bring our big, heavy book to class - she'd tell us page numbers of tables, pictures she wanted us to know. As a matter of fact - she said we don't have to use the book that was sold to us for this semester. She said we could use any book like Saladin, etc., and make copies if any diagram, table is different. Pretty nice there.

Okie dokie - who else?

I am also taking A&P1 this semester! Tues/Thurs! So far so good lol!

Ohhhhh... I am finally here too! I have been home with my children for the last 6 years. I think I could master anything right now-even A&P. It feels so good to use my brain again!

I have the exact same scheduale as you! I think my teacher is great. He is nice, but hard. We have tons of work to do. I do have to bring all those books to every class. Iam working hard and definately getting the hang of it!

Hope to talk to you soon!

I had my first class today! I have lecture MWF and a 3 hour lab on Fridays - different teachers. I am a little concerned because my books are still not in yet:(

I am feeling a little intimidated, but excited as well because I love science. At least I am not the olde4st person in the class:), unlike my Algebra class where I think that I am even older than the teach. Oh well, what can I do !!!

Good luck to us all!!

I completely understand what you mean, I'm 35. (Not sure why my sig thing says 34).

I'mHistory: Isn't it great to get out there again? I am loving it too - but I think my problem is getting the cobwebs cleared out. It's not as easy as it once was to make things just "click".

Have you all seen this site? Here: http://groups.msn.com/AnatomyPhysiologyTests The guy is phenomenal!! I love this site - there's so much there!

What book are you guys using? I was instructed to buy: http://highered.mcgraw-hill.com/classware/infoCenter.do?isbn=0072829532&navclick=true (remember tho - not everyone has to use that particular one. I got mine off ebay for $48 w00t.gifinstead of paying $165 for it in the bookstore!)

And our lab book is this one: http://www.textbooks.com/BooksDescription.php?&TYP=I&TXT=0072827343&BKN=694575&CSID=KQ0C2C0DQ0AADK2T2KAA

I will be taking A&P this fall as well.It feels so good to be back in school. :monkeydance:

Add me to the club. My A&PI is a hybrid class we meet on M & W for one hour and forty minutes which they refer to as lab time (all we've done so far is label bones in hand-outs) and the rest of the class is online. This class has a ton and a half of homework too. :uhoh21:

Hello all,

I'm taking General Biology this semester it was "strongly recommended" before taking A&P I. Which is fine. Considering I haven't had a biology class in about 100 years. :-). I would love to be a part of the group, or if I could just tag along. Please let me know. Thanks

Hi everyone,

I too am in A&P 1 this semester. So far so good, although not quite sure about our instructor. The book will be my friend. Our book was $147, but I found it on Amazon for $125. (a little savings) Wish you all luck on your journey!

Well - I had my first lab today. It was boring at first .... you know, the 1 hr rules/regulations/expectations lecture? Uck.

Then it got good - I feel good about what we went over. I feel really bad for those who have not had any bio before or in awhile. It was REALLY fast. She stopped at one point and asked who felt overwhelmed already and over half the class raised their hand. Not me - I felt confident. (so far)

Oh - our lab does not go along with our lecture. I think that's weird but does anyone else have it this way?
