Ok...here's the thing. The people at the testing center generally don't see or know your results for the NCLEX. Even if they did, they would probably have no idea if you passed or not if they saw a % of correct questions or whatever, as NCLEX is scored differently than most exams. Maybe they misstook you for someone else who took a different exam? Anyway, the PV trick doesn't require you to pay anything one way or the other. You attempt to re-register for the exam; if you get the screen where you can enter a credit card and proceed with registration, that means you failed (according to the trick). If you get an error message saying you can't register for the exam, or that you already registered for/took the exam, then you passed (again, according to the trick). You NEVER actually put in a card number or get charged! If you make it to a payment screen, either you failed or the trick didn't work...so don't keep going.

No that was the old PVT trick, Pearson Vue updated their system and made it to where you have to gamble and put in your credit card information and then hit the submit button, if you get the pop which is the same message from the trick "our record indicates.. etc.." Then you pass but if you are charged and able to make a new registration then that's the bad pop. Either which way nothing is confirmed until you actually get your official or quick results from Pearson Vue or the state BON.

Ya I agree with moanalpn I did the trick last year after their change went into effect and it made us put in our credit card info whether we passed or failed. But it stopped you from going any further than that if you passed. The one person who failed did the trick and had to pay, but regardless you'll have to pay to retake it anyway. But I would wait for your results if I were you.

Yes, in order to do the trick as of late 2014, you must submit payment info and risk Pearson Vue attempting a charge.
As for test center staff having access to results, NCSBN says:
Although the exam is scored as you complete each item, no results are released at the test center. In fact, test center staff do not have access to the exam results.
Good luck!!!
