Hi All,

I applied at Los Angeles Pierce College in their LVN-RN program. I have submitted my application and sent my TEAS test scores. Yesterday they had emailed me saying I need to take the KAPLAN LVN Assessment test. I had emailed the secretary if there is any book she recommends that I can study, she didnt reply. I also emailed another person (handles the test) and no reply either. I've also tried calling, no answer. Is anybody having this problem as well? I would just like to know what book to buy so I can study from it.

Please help!!

I got the same email....I emailed her as well..but I will be calling tommrow to ask.

i called and she said to use any nclex pn book that we have used for studying nclex pn.

Thanks for postibg this. I'm on the same boat as you. Is this something new, or have past LVN-RN applicants done this?

I'm actually going this afternoon to buy a new nclex vn review book, since I feel mine is outdated. 10+ years eek!

I attended same school different location in 2012. There was a book at school that was a study guide. It was free. I didn't feel an NCLEX prep book would be the best prep. In my recollection, the test was on basic math, reading, vocabulary/spelling and some weird interpretations of common sayings.

If you're saying that you already have kaplans test prep materials for the Kaplan test, I'd like to encourage you that it's all you need. Plus Google, lol! To help you refresh on concepts you need to brush up on.

I fondly remember studying their book at the park the day before my test with my son and his cousin playing nearby.

I took that the next day and scored in 90's.

Thankyou!! For the encouragement:) yeah I will be brushing up with nclex material soon...but the pierce school didn't really define their testing material to wide for us to understand.I would rather take the test nclex style then TEAS.
