Feb 20, 201511 yr I was wondering when I should start to apply for RN positions. I will be done at the end of April and will be able to sit for the NCLEX. Do I start looking now or wait until I have taken boards. Feb 20, 201511 yr You should always be looking at this point in the game. Some hospitals have specific programs for new grads that start in the summer or winter, with certain time frames for applying. Most positions will tell you if it's a new grad position or if you have to have to pass NCLEX before applying for the job. New grad programs often have it as a condition of your employment that you will pass NCLEX or have to work as a tech or CNA until you have successfully passed NCLEX. It also depends on your area and what speciality you're interested in. I don't think it would hurt to apply now, provided that you meet the requirements on the job posting.
Feb 20, 201511 yr Its never too early, Depending on your region, some places may take you on in an intern position with a promise to hire upon passing the Boards of course.
