Hello everyone

I just graduated from a nursing school in NJ and failed my first NCLEX exam. I passed through this painful experience and now thinking of new ways to study and pass. This thread is about getting a nursing job after graduation. Any thoughts about making an excellent resume, volunteer or sth to be prepared to get a job faster. Also, can an RN with no license work as nursing assistant or PCT? I am thinking it would be great to get a temporary or per diem NA or PCT job while waiting to take the exam. What do you guys think

An RN with no license is not an RN. RN is the licensed title. An individual with an ASN, nursing diploma or BSN would be accurate. Most facilities will not hire an unlicensed nurse in the role of a UAP (NA, pct or otherwise) for a variety of reasons. One being after they train you and then you pass the NCLEX then you will leave the job for a licensed role and they would have wasted time & money orienting you to a UAP role.

You might have luck taking CHHA training with a home care agency (most offer free training if you agree to work for them after plus the training is relatively short).
