Custom Scrub tops

Hi.

I was in Walmart (yes, the dreaded Walmart) yesterday and I found some material that I absolutely loved and thought would make a cute scrub top. I don't think it was big enough (it was more of the fat quarters) but I couldn't help but think "I wish Koi or some other scrub company would create a division that people could send them material and select a style of scrub top they like and they make it." Like the scrub company give the dimensions that the material must be in order to create the scrub top and then, the company make the top; notify the customer when it's ready via phone call or email, the customer pay for it, and the top is shipped.

Does anyone do this?

I had someone make me some scrubs! I'm fluffy, and regular scrubs never fit right, so she is making me 3 sets!

I actually make my own scrubs. It's really not that hard. You just need a pattern, the material, your measurements and a sewing machine (I use a little hand held one). I started becaused I'm a Dallas Cowboys fan and you can't find Dallas Cowboy scrubs (thanks Jerry Jones!!). So I decided to make some.

Where did you get your patterns? I am a new sewer, but scrubs seem easy enough.... I want to try howver, then I think again it will take me much longer than one hour to make a scrub top...and with one hour of pay, i can buy a scrub top maybe two....so its really not worth my effort, sigh. I guess I could pay someone else to do it, as longas their charge is less than my hourly rate, it makes sense.

I was in Bogota,

Colombia and you can get custom scrub sets made for $30 including youre of fabric, design and it is measured to your body. Unfortunately I wasn't able to get them bc it was my last day there but I will when I go back!

Agreed with above- scrubs are a very easy project if you have basic sewing skills. I used to make my own all the time.

ETA- there are companies that do this. It's mostly families in the "modest" community that I've seen. http://www.ringgerclothing.com/ is one. They look like such nice people!!
