MCCG, Coliseum, Or Houston Medical

So I'm a new grad looking to work at one of these hospitals but I don't really know anyone that works at any of them. I like to typically stay at facility or work place for years and I wanna make a good fit for me. Like I hear 6 main at MCCG is hell on wheels and to stay away for it. Any input would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.

I work at houston in the ICU and love it. but i know they will not hire new grads into the ICU. i wouldnt work at coliseum because we have a lot of nurses that come to houston after being at coliseum and say that they enjoy houston more. i have not heard to many bad things about MCCG and if you can get into an ICU their you can learn a lot more being at a teaching hospital. what school are you graduating from?

i must say also that i came from an ICU at UAB in birmingham so im partial to big teaching hospitals like mccg. and i have floated down to a few of the floors at houston so if you have more questons about it i can fill in anything other questons just let me know

I'm graduated from Darton College in Albany, Ga. It was a great program and I learned a lot.

I work 6 Main at MCCG and I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT. I graduated from GCSU this past May and I was debating on MCCG and Coliseum (I posted a similar post). Everyone told me 6 Main was such a hard floor and I also got the stay away spiel as well. I went against the grain and decided to accept the job offer and it was the best choice for ME. I will say this and I know people will agree that certain floors of hospitals (maybe even all floors) have their own unique personalities and my personality clicked with 6 Main. I even made the remark that I loved the floor because all my coworkers had the same personality as me. I love who I work with and enjoy going to work. I will say this the floor is definitely a busy floor and I agree with what most people say "if you can work 6 Main, you can work anywhere". I've yet to have a bad day and most of my coworkers keep me laughing throughout the day. Several people have made the comment that I am a true "6 Mainer", you can kinda tell when people are not comfortable with the floor and who will stay and who will go. I will say this they do have a big turnover rate but I feel everyone should shadow or at least talk to someone about floors before they accept a job offer. Some floors are a good fit and some are not.
