Are RN's only limited to LTC or hospital jobs?

can you have an rn degree and only work in hospitals or LTC facilities? can you not find work anywhere else? I know people say that new grads cant find a job but can anyone find a job anywhere regardless of job type or occupation

There are clinic positions & case management positions in Public Health. Alot of those positions are ran by the county government. Here in California, alot of the county's are in "hiring freezes", so I'm not sure of the availablity of those. But something to look into if you are interested in positions outside of the hospital.

i mean some nurses are making it seem like they cant find work anywhere.....bank,restaurant,retail....what im saying is if a few years the economy is still in a rut and I have a RN degree but cant find work, im going to apply to watever comes my way even if its small. dont be too proud is all im saying. my cousin is graduating with her BSN in may and she works for the housing development agency in my hometown.

Ooooh, lol. Sorry I misunderstood your post. But yeah, I know what you mean. Jobs are hard to come by, whether it be nursing or anything else.

Oh sure we can. I just graduated in December. I'd love to go work for Starbucks
