Hello, I am a new grad with my associate's in nursing, and I want to continue my education. I eventually want to earn my MSN, as my long term goal is to become a nurse midwife. I however want to earn my BSN now, but does it make sense to work on BSN now, or should I just go straight for the MSN? I am sure it depends on the school, but does it really take longer for RN to MSN than RN to BSN? Thanks!

RN to BSN is a couple of more classes. You can do it online most of the time. In most schools, you need to have a BSN to go in to an MSN.

If you're allowed to do the MSN. You'll take the BSN required course still, and pay the graduate level tuition for the BSN courses.
