Dear CNA's

I just wanted to let you know that I have mad respect for what you do. For our clinicals the first day we had to shadow a CNA for the day at a LTC facility. I had no previous medical experience besides being a patient. Anyway, my first day I was just like WOW. What y'all do is hard work and I admire you.

Granted it was hard for me because I kept looking at it from different eyes, I have to admit, I don't think LTC is for me. I felt like the patients were neglected so to speak, emotionally that is and other things, but that isn't what this thread is about. At the end of the day, I didn't blame the CNA's. They had an insane amount of never ending work to do, I can't look down on them for the things that bothered me. It was a tough job, it's low pay and it's never ending hard work. Bravo for all your hard work!

:1luvu: I didn't think that I would be too keen on the idea of working in a LTC as a CNA, but the ol' buggers just get to you. I cannot wait until nursing classes start because some of the folks with zero experience are in for quite a shock! Hopefully they will be humbled quickly and realize that these people are in there final stages of life and treat them with all the respect & dignity they deserve.

.....and Thank You for your post!
