Hi, going to be moving to Phoenix to attend nursing school; just waiting for a spot in a program.

For those of you that moved to Phoenix from out of state, what do you think of it? More importanly, are you paying non-resident tuition? If no, how did you avoid it?

Any info you want to pass on regarding moving there or school is really appreciated!

I moved here from Ohio to go to NS. Phoenix is all right if you like city (I am a country boy). I looked at several states including Ohio; most places have a huge waiting list to get into the ADN program. I choose to go to a small private school here in Phoenix that had no waiting time and didn't require 80 hours of prereqs. I did not pay out-of-state tuition due to it being a private school; however, my education will cost me $28,000 where most community colleges are around 1/3 the cost. I am in an accelerated 18 month program and had no waiting around which is important to me since I am an old guy! The worst part about the whole deal is that summers are brutal here!

If I had it to do over again I might have picked Holland, or Barbados or Fuji or................

go to Eastern Arizona College. No wait list. Hey, you are moving anyways, right?

No, I'll be moving to Phoenix just to attend NS. Currently live in CA and obviously we have schools here but Phoenix will still be faster plus they have accelerated programs.

This is my first post. I was using google to find nursing college's in Phoenix as I'm moving there the end of May and found this site. Money is not an issue so any suggestions for where I can apply to a private nursing college with little or no wait?

Last time I heard there wasnt a huge waiting list for Apollo but I'm not sure if their credits transfer if you want to get your BSN.

I go to IIA and I would discourage you from going there for at least a year. They are going through some changes and their clinical spots are lacking. I believe that it will get better; however, I would put it off a least a year.
