Looking for IV Certification and phlebotomy course in Tampa Bay

Hello!

I am new to this site.

I was wondering if anyone knows of a school or training center that would offer IV Cert training/phlebotomy course. I am a LPN who left the field years ago and is now returning. I took the NCLEXPN in December and passed the first time (after last taking it in 1985)!

I would like to work in an outpatient/physician's ofice.

I have found a training school in Orlando but, I would like something closer. I live in St. Petersburg, Florida.

Thank you!

I was having trouble finding this course in the Daytona area, and it turns out that my local community college has the course they just don't advertise for some reason. I had to pass on the course though, it was $400.00 and my financial aid woudn't cover it. I would try your local community colleges.

Erwin Tech offers IV Courses and Phlebotomy courses. It is located on Hillsborough in Tampa. I think there are IV courses starting as soon as August. It is a 5 week program; 2 nights per week for a total of 40 hours. I have heard that there are programs available where you can take the 40 hours in one week, but I do not know where they are.

Congratulations on passing the NCLEX on the first try. I hope to be so lucky when I finish my program!!

Thank you I will try this site. And good luck to you! HAPPY Studying :D

Try the area hospitals also. And if you don't absolutely have to be certified in order to get the job, wait until after and see if your employer will reimburse you. At my clinic, you can be hired for a position that requires IV certification before you are certified. Just have to become certified within 3 months of hire.

PHCC is having one from July 20-Aug 4th.

St. Petersburg College offers 30 hour IV Therapy courses for nurses.

I have found a new company that offers I.V. Therapy, Phlebotomy, ACLS, Basic EKG etc. http://www.avalonmedicaleducators.com/ .

Started by a RN, classes are offered State wide in Florida.

Look into Trinity Medical Academy in New Port Richey. They are a small private school that has really made some big leaps in the programs they offer and the quality. They offer the programs you are looking for.
