getting back into nursing

I am a RN from Ontarion Canada. I have been out of nursing for about 7 years. I want to go back now but feel i have forgotten many of my skills. I was thinking of just taking a specialzed course for example in labour and delivery and then try to apply for a job on that ward. I dont know if hospitals will pay for any of these up grading or refresher programs. what if i try to get a job in a nursing home to refresh myself and then go from there to a better job........ i dont know what to do. can anyone show me the best path. I need to work while i take a refresher course, so what should i do...............please help
