FYI E-Vista vs. Evista

My Mom wanted to know about a new med for bone loss called E-Vista. I looked it up and it was hydroxyzine? Mom said it was new. Turned out E-Vista (hydroxyzine) is no longer made. The new med is Evista (raloxifene HCl) to prevent bone loss and the articles I found were about pharmacists giving pts the wrong med. Watch out for this one.

That's why we must follow those 5 Rights!

Thanks for the warning, midwest.

What is the FDA thinking when it allows these companies to use such similar names on their medications? It's not brain surgery to look any new proposed names up in the PDR, after all, to see whether there is a likely conflict.

Well, too logical, I suppose.
