Jun 1, 200620 yr Does anyone know if you have to test in the state you are licensed in or are you able to test in another state after you graduate. If anyone knows the answer to this question could you let me know thanks.
Jun 3, 200620 yr I tested in Missouri for my Illinois license. One of the girls in my class tested in Illinois for her Arizona license. You do need to make sure your paperwork goes to the state where you want to get your license and then specify that state when you sign up for your NCLEX.
Jun 3, 200620 yr Yep, You can take the NCLEX in any state. When you register with the testing company you will specify which state you want your results sent to. You need to apply to the state board of nursing seperately from test registration.I tested in Oregon for my Washington license because it was the closest testing center.

The NCLEX exam is actually the last step in the licensing process. You do not tell Pearosn-Vue which states to send your results to, the state that will receive your results from them is the one that okays you to get the ATT. For any other state that you want to get results, you will need to have those sent by the state that issues you the the first license. Adn you will need to file an application called "License by Endorsement."Pearson-Vue is unable to give results to anyone other that the state where you applied for initial licensure, or you if your state permits early results.

If you change that information later, there is $50 fee.
Jun 4, 200620 yr Experts You are essentially verifiying which state that granted you permission to sit for the exam, you have to pay a fee ti even change where you will sit for the exam. You cannot list several states there, only one. That is what I am trying to get across to all of you.If you need the results to go to another state afterwards, it has to be by the state that you wrote the exam for. Pearosn-Vue is only able to release your score to the state that you wrote the exam for, not any others.
