I took the NCLEX last week and failed. I was devastated. I believe I know what went wrong. I got all 265 and i only took one break at 100 questions. I started getting discouraged when the computer never shut off and I started getting tired and believe I wasn't thinking through the questions to the best of my ability.

Now, my question is, I used UWorld and I loved it, but now I am nervous to use it again. Should I stick with UWorld or try something new? What do you recommend/what worked for you?

I had all 265 questions with my NCLEX too- horrible. I cried through probably the last 100 questions, and then sobbed my whole way home - probably shouldn't have been on the highway! All of my friends had passed (my ATT was delayed due to getting my BSN out of state and my school not releasing my records or whatever they needed to do) with 75-80 questions. Fortunately, I ended up passing.

To study I used a Lippincott question book and did the Kaplan review course. The review course was extremely helpful, and Kaplan had some agreement with our school that if we didn't pass on the first go around, we got to do the review course again with a different instructor for free. I have no idea how much this cost because it was through school, so it was $500 but we got a bunch of stuff through school / it was "part of our tuition" somehow.

Don't let it get you down! I know plenty of great nurses who didn't pass their first or second time, either. And best of luck on your next go!

I recommend Uworld again, HURST Review and the Prioritization, Delegation and Assessment book. Since you already did Uworld, just make sure you go over each question and rationale and write notes. The HURST Review was a great resource because of the live class and the Question Simulator. It teaches/reviews basics and I feel that it helped alot. I passed with 75 questions last month.

You were right on the line! So you can easily pass next time. Try to focus on areas that you don't know. And you absolutely, positively, have to know your Abc's, maslows hierarchy, and acute/chronic! This will help you with priority and sata. Know medications, unique side effect for medications, what not to take with..... and know lab values and side effects of abnormal lab values. Know the key features of chronic conditions like copd and emphysema and the acute nature of pneumonia. Practice OB and peds questions. But most of all, practice taking questions. Understand the style of questions and what each question is asking you. Don't get sidetracked by extra information. And I took all 265 questions too. I understand the pain believe me. It took me six hours and I was devastated. Luckily I passed, but you were very close to where I was so don't fret. I could have easily failed too. It's a hard test. But the one thing I noticed that I did well was using all my mind power on each question (give or take a couple lol..... ) and giving it my best shot, despite being stressed. You need to focus on that question as if its the only question. You can definitely pass your next test. Promise
