How to Get Into Nursing School with below 3.0 GPA?

I know there have been a lot of questions like mine already, so thank you for reading and responding.

I graduated from college 2 years ago. I was a transfer student and had a 3.4 in JC. 1 year after transferring to university, health problems started. It was a rough time for me and I isolated myself from friends and family. Doctors didn't know what was wrong with me. I knew there was an option to take time off school, but I decided to push through and finish college. I ended school with a couple of Ds and Cs in major science classes and a GPA of 2.9. After graduating, I worked at health related community agencies, but my career choice looks limited without further training or a master degree. I really want to be a nurse and give back to patients the care I received from nurse when I was sick, but I don't see how with such a low GPA and ugly transcript, especially in a super competitive area like the Bay Area. Am I going to stuck in low paying jobs in the health field? If anyone has any advice on how I can get into a BSN program, I would greatly appreciate it.

You have a couple of options. First, you could retake those science classes and take a few more courses to increase your GPA. Or you could start with an ADN program, or even LPN program, that accepts students with a GPA in the 3.0 range. Then you can bridge to an LPN-RN program or RN or BSN program.
