air force reserve to active air force nurse

I have a question about nursing in the air force. I am currently enrolled an LPN programm and I am planning to join the air force reserve when I am finished school. My goal is to be an RN in the air force. I am not sure if this is the right path to do it. Should I finish a 4 year and have my BSN then join or work as a lpn do the reserve and go to school to finish my degree. Is it easy to switch from reserve to active duty or not? Well, if anyone out there can give me an advice that would be great. :uhoh3:

All AF nurses must have a minimum of a BSN. If you join with an LPN, you would have to enlist....be a tech with added responsibilities. If you want to commission as an officer and be able to work fully as a nurse, I would wait, get my RN BSN, and then join.

As for switching from reserve to active duty I would just like to say that my daughter was told that she would have to wait 6 months, but when she arrived at her assigned place after finishing basic training and asked her superior about switching to active duty he said sure and she became active right away and volunteered to go to Kosovo where she is now. Don't know if this is the way it is for everyone or what. Just thought I'd let you know what happened to one young woman after she was told she had to wait.
